Viral Marketing

Viral Marketing is a marketing form that is used by someone spreading the word to other people by use of the Internet, E-Mail or word of mouth, the second person then goes and tells more people and so the pattern continues, this can be a very effect way of marketing.

It has also been known to take the shape of Flash Games, brandable software, images and text messages.

This advert for Burger King's Tender Crisp Bacon Cheddar Ranch was said to be one of the striking example's of Viral Marketing, the campaign had a website, television and print campaigns as well as a one time Pay Per View event.

Here some images of the website, which featured a slogan 'Chicken the way you want it', you basically had control of the what the chicken does.

Another example is the Cadburys Dairy Milk advert aired in 2007.



The video featuring a gorilla playing the classic Phil Collins song In The Air Tonight, the video had more than 500,000 views on youtube in the first week, and has now reached over 1 million.
